Kim and Gerry are experienced and very welcoming hosts. Gerry works in finance; Kim, born and raised in Maldon, used to work for consumer magazines. They bought The Hythe in 2006 as a family home, and later started doing B&B. They are keen sailors - Gerry likes racing - and they have their own little boat.
Visit and enjoy their fabulous breakfast with home made bread, eggs from the hens, Tiptree preserves, fresh fruit, cereals and cooked options too. Check out the breakfast menu.
Please feel free to arrive any time on the day of check-in and park on the drive. We ask that you check in after 3 pm to give us time to prepare the room, check-out on the day of departure is before 10:30am. We can accommodate secure storage for cycles if required, we are a pet free establishment and welcome children over fourteen. There are many maps of the area that you will find in your room to help plan trips and walks during your stay. Just let us know what type of activities interest you and we will do our best to steer you in the right direction. There are barge and boat trips, sea walks and bird watching opportunities, a WW1 Aerodrome, Gardens, Museums, Churches and even a petrified forest!
We are close to many good quality pubs, restaurants and tea rooms and can provide recommendations if you require.
